Yuiza- Taíno cacique of Loíza

Yuiza was inspired by Latin Taino roots from Puerto Rico. 
According to the Raíces Cultural Center and other sources, Yuiza (also called Yuisa, Loaíza, or Luisa) was a Taíno cacique (chief) who ruled in the Jaymanio region, near the Río Grande de Loíza, during the Spanish conquest of Borikén in the 16th century

She is said to have led her people with wisdom and strength, and some traditions claim she married Pedro Mejías, a mulatto conquistador
